XXX Drive-In

A short distance from Seattle, at the foot of the great Cascade mountains, lies the great Triple XXX Drive-In, one of two surviving locations of the once great fast food chain. Whatever food the Drive-In historically served, somewhere along the line the menu took a turn for the monstrous. With it's centerpiece XXX Burger comprised of no less than six patties and a corresponding amount of fixins, Triple XXX is the perfect place to prove one's manhood or challenge another's. Also available are comparably large kitchen-sink style sandwiches and desserts. And as a bonus, the walls are excellently cluttered. Pain has never been so hilariously delicious.

Don't let the XXX fool you—this joint is G-rated, as in greasylicious for the whole family. And while you won’t see any naked pin-ups plastering the walls, the size of their golden glistening buns is quite risqué. A visit to Issaquah's XXX Root-Beer Drive-In (Interstate 90, exit 15) is like stepping into a frame of American Graffiti with inflation factored in. Family owned and operated, the fiftiesesque decor is complete with mini-jukeboxes and vinyl booths that stick to the back of your thighs if you break a sweat. No reason to, unless you forget cash. Credit cards won’t fly here. Indulge your inner-child and order a shake with your burger. So creamy and delicious they’re obscene. XXX indeed.
