Falling Downhill at Winter Park Ski Resort in Colorado

Who was it that said skiing is simply controlled falling? Although it’s an unnatural sensation, once you become coordinated enough to break your fall with your skis instead of your face, the fun begins. A great place to learn is Winter Park Resort in Colorado. With nearly 50% of the trails marked beginner or intermediate, recreational skiers can learn to carve while aspiring athletes tackle the more challenging terrain in the park or ski “Mary Jane” next door.

Winter Park Resort

Amidst the 3,000 ski-able acres at Colorado's favorite, Winter Park Ski Resort, you will find world-class moguls, challenging terrain, and plenty of fresh powder. But carve a path off one of the resort's 143 trials, and you might uncover a hidden snow hut. These small log huts, built by locals during the summer months, become cozy hideaways come the winter snowfall. Once inside, the huts open up with bench seats and room for up to 6 people. A truly cool place to rest, hydrate, and chat with friends while on the slopes. However, there are only a handful of them across the entire resort, so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled.
