Cheering On the Big Wave Surfers in Oahu, Hawaii
The waves look like giant monsters growing out of the sea, poised to consume surfers dwarfed by their size. Every November and December, the best of surfing returns to the North Shore for Van’s Triple Crown of Surfing. Fans crowd the beach to watch as men and women try to conquer the glassy, massive waves that reach 30 feet. Cheer with the masses as a surfer exits the pipe unharmed, evading a terrible crash. First up is the Vans Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa Beach. Second is the O'Neill World Cup at Sunset Beach. The third is the Xbox Gerry Lopez Pipeline Masters.
