If you’ve ever wanted to try camping, but were put off by the thought of sleeping in a tent, on the cold ground and eating freeze-dried foods, you really need to try “camping” the way they do it at the Rockwater Cove Secret Resort, on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Just a few hours by car and ferry from Vancouver, the resort lets you “rough it” in luxurious “tenthouse suites,” complete with heated marble floors, a fireplace, a Jacuzzi, and if you want it, room service —with a long list of gourmet treats to choose from, including ice-cold champagne. Step outside onto your private deck, and you’ll enjoy a close-up look at the Pacific Ocean, proving this truly is a “tent with a view.” Just kick back, sip some champagne and nibble on a canapé prepared by the resort’s chef, and realize “roughing it” never felt so good.
