#20141 Reenacting Medieval Antics in Postoloprty, Czech Republic

Every child dreams of living in medieval times—becoming a beautiful princess, a royal knight, a dragon-slayer and sometimes even the court jester. Take the opportunity to live this fantasy for one day every year in the small North Bohemian town of Postoloprty (reachable from Prague by bus or train). Each May, this tiny town bands together and puts on an impressive display of sword fighters, jugglers, fire-eaters, jousters, and bird-tamers. Truly an event for all ages, you can eat pork roasted on a spit, try your hand at leather working, and then attempt to shoot a dragon in the heart with a makeshift crossbow. The best part? It's all held in the courtyards of unrestored crumbling castle walls. Go early to rent a costume from the town hall and walk in the parade with locals, and stay late for a dramatic nighttime theatrical fire performance followed by fireworks. Your inner child will never be the same. Event date: May
