Discovering Fine Art in the Wild West in Jackson Hole, WY

After a week of hiking, covered wagon rides and shootouts in the town square, my family was ready for a break from the wild West. Snuggled into a butte overlooking the 25,000-acre National Elk Refuge, the National Museum of Wildlife Art gave us the peace we were looking for. We came face to face with Chief, Robert Bateman’s more-than-life-size bison, inspected the replica of John Clymer’s Jackson Hole studio and soaked up beautiful and savage visions of nature from around the world. As we left, we paused to watch some living art: marmots sunbathing on top of their rocky home.
