#15901 Twisting Your Tongue in Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, Wales
Ever heard of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch? Now try saying it three times fast. Or just once, even. Llanfair PG, as it is more commonly known, is a village on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in Northern Wales, justly famous for having one of the longest place names in the world. Originally called Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, in itself a tongue-twister, the even longer name was constructed in the 1860s to give the local train station the longest name in Britain. Who said PR was a modern concept? Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, meaning "St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St Tysilio of the Red Cave," also boasts the longest domain name on the Internet.
