Following the Path in a Traditional Terrace Garden in Ha'ena, Kauai

Kindly follow the path keeping your stroll slow, so that each inch of flora, fauna, fruit, and stream can be well appreciated. Limahuli’s terrace gardens showcase traditional, well-preserved Hawaiian gardening all in the shadow of the strikingly lush Makana Mountain. Take a moment to gawk at nature—then proceed. Descriptive markers make navigating your way along the wide twisting path easier, while also providing a wealth of botanic information. Native, indigenous, and endemic species are represented, along with Polynesian and modern varieties. At the top of the path, just before heading down, you are sure to have a transcendental moment when views of the expansive Pacific open up to the right providing a bird’s eye view of the rock terrace below.
