Description of place

by trish: Strolling the Shores of Omond by the Sea

The water shimmers, reflecting the moon at night and a gorgeous sunrise by morning. It’s hard to believe that Daytona Beach is only a few miles south of Ormond by the Sea, a quiet and remote beach town where fisherman come to catch blues, reds, and flounder. Known as the “Gateway to the Tropics,” Ormond has a natural airbrushed feel to it. The sweet scents of beach flowers mixed with suntan oil by day, and the delicious aroma of grilled fish and veggie kabobs by sunset, are common at the Indies House. There are plenty of seashells and driftwood from the deep to gather at its shores, along with new memories you'll make and later summon during those winter months back home. Listen to the seagulls in the wind, as you relax and get a tan at the Indies pool or beach. Ormond is near some scenic historic sites like the Casements, Ormond Hotel, and the Halifax River, all worth a visit and a photograph.
