Driving Around Every Tree-Lined Curve in Mendocino County, CA
The trip from Willits to Fort Bragg along California's Highway 20 will lead you through a wonderland of roadside scenery. In winter and spring, especially during the rainy season, you'll swear you can see elves and faeries among the mist-covered trees. In the summer and fall the dry, dusty hillsides set the perfect backdrop for the green of the trees. The drive is not for the mountain-nervous; some curves will take you nearly 180 degrees. The nerves are worth it for the smell of fresh pine sap alone.
