Relaxing in the Glades of Glen in Point Reyes National Seashore, CA
Shrug off the pack, take a deep breath, and as it slips out, take in the surroundings. Pines rise up, scenting the air. They have the warm light of late afternoon giving them an added softness. The only sounds are birds rustling in the bushes, calling to one another. Glen Camp is deep in the heart of the Point Reyes National Seashore. Tomorrow will be time to choose among various trails leading to the ocean, depending on what sort of hike is desired, and which views craved—rolling, grass covered hills, forested canopies shadowing the trail, rocky bluffs with bird-covered rocks, or sandy beaches leading to waterfalls that dump into the ocean... Two days will not be enough for all. There, in the camp, California quail and black-tailed deer wander between the sites. Camps #5-8 are especially secluded.
