Eating Beyti Kebab Alongside the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey
It is a difficult place to find among Istanbul’s labyrinthine streets, but the small sign "Doy Doy" eventually becomes visible. In the restaurant, guests are greeted by a friendly host and an array of carpets and evil eyes. The smell of garlic, parsley, and other exotic spices permeates the room and a mouth-watering platter of honey-drenched desserts beckons. Climbing up to the roof will reward you with a view of the Blue Mosque, seemingly floating in the sky, its minarets soaring beside the enormous dome. A quick look to the side reveals the Bosphorus Strait, filled with frantic ferries, plodding cargo ships, and graceful sailboats ready to entertain as you sit down to order from the menu of Turkish kebabs and baklava.
