Stopping to Smell the Flowers in Córdoba, Spain
Hidden in the twisting old Arab streets of Córdoba, Spain is a courtyard surrounded by the typical Andalusian casas blancas with their whitewashed facades. But here you barely notice the bright whiteness of the houses. Instead, the colors of green, red, and pink pop out at you. The sweet, fresh scent of flowers is all around on the Calle de las Flores. Another narrow alleyway leads out from the patio and a closer look reveals the ancient mosque-cum-cathedral, the great Mezquita. Beauty and history meet in this most charming of Spanish towns.
